Removing id3 tags from .flac files

I occasionally come across.flac files that have ID3 tags in them (as well as Vorbis comments).

This seems to confuse The Godfather (my tag editor of choice) so I need to remove them.

The Godfather has a batch script that can remove ID3 tags but it's rather slow so I went looking for something faster and that would run from the linux command-line. Enter id3v2.

id3v2 has a --delete-all option that removes all ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags and it works on .flac files.

I used the following command to search my entire library and remove all ID3 tags from the .flac files:

find . -name "*.flac" -exec id3v2 --delete-all {} ;
